The Adventure Begins…
Drumroll, please!
Tomorrow morning at oh-dark-hundred, I board the airport shuttle to fly to Goose Creek, South Carolina, where I will meet my twenty-year-old daughter. She’s just finished training as a nuclear power plant operator for the United States Navy, and her next station is in San Diego. We will be driving across the United States, taking somewhere between a week and the rest of our lives to complete the trip. Well, not really, but this kind of travel is one of the best things I’ve ever done, and out of all six of my children, Lacey is the only one who ever liked it, so this should be a lot of fun. In the for-what-it’s-worth department, their mother doesn’t much like a roadtrip, either. Which is why we’re not taking her!
Expect some basic changes in this blog in the next few days, as we get things set up, but then it should just be pictures (lots of pictures) and musings (lots of musings) and various blatherings about the country and the people and the things we see (lots and lots and lots of blatherings!). We both have cameras, and we’ll both be posting multiple times per day, so sit back, put your feet up, and let us do the driving as we search for the Great American Road Trip!
